General Session Info.

Each session will generally last 2 hours and at the location of your choice.  If you’re not sure where the best place would be to have your portraits made then I’ll be glad to give you several wonderful options.  My goal at every session is to make it as laid back and fun as possible.  The best pictures come from your children and family actually having a good time.  Capturing you and your loved ones true personality is what I ultimately strive for.

I’ll post a sneak peek of your session on my facebook page and this blog 48hrs after your shoot.  The sneak peek will contain around 5-7 of my favorite images.  Your full session preview, which will contain roughly 20 – 30 fully edited images, will be available about 2 – 3 weeks prior to your session.  You will then have 2 weeks to choose the prints you would like and place your order.  After the 2 weeks are up your session preview will expire.  If you are in need of additional preview time please be in touch with me.

What to wear?

One of the best ways to have your personality come through in your portraits is by your dress.  I suggest wearing what you feel the most comfortable in that shows who you and your family are.  I do have a few suggestions to help with the cohesion of your look.  I don’t recommend wearing extremely bold patterns or character/graphic apparel.  Also, I suggest that with family and sibling sessions you go for looks that are coordinating yet not too matchy matchy.  Layers, jewelry, bright colors, scarves and textures can also add a bit of interest to your pictures.  For more inspiration on outfitting for your session check out my What to Wear posts.

Newborn Session

Newborn sessions work a little bit differently than a typical session.  They last around 2 to 3 hrs and are totally catered to your new little bundle.  I have two little boys who once were at the same stage as your newest addition so I know all to well that we work on their schedule.  Therefore, I allow plenty of time for feedings, changings and anything else the little one throws at us 😉  I hold all of these sessions in my home so you can have total access to all my props, hats, headbands and diaper covers.  For all the sweet, sleepy newborn shots its best to do the session within the first 4 – 12 days after birth therefore I recommend scheduling your session while you are still pregnant to insure I have a place for your baby on my calendar once he/she arrives.  I also recommend you feed baby right before the session starts to ensure he/she is nice and full when we get started (a full baby = a sleepy baby).
